I find myself at a crossroads.
I've been on a balance beam in the middle of two opposing sides for far too long, and I think it's time to make a choice as to where I'm going.
To the left we have what people call "being good". Studying when you have tests, steering clear of those deadly poisonous drugs and alcohol. University-bound. Going off to do stereotypical things in a life built on formality, and being insurmountably shallow and self-absorbed.
Then there's the right path, the charming little rabbit hole that it is. Drug use. Less-prestigious secondary education (which ultimately is a benefit). Occasional failed tests. But the fun! And the marvelous, colorful people! People who actually care about what's going on around them, and hold their friends as close as they should, steering clear of superficial arguments (for the most part). Good people. People I like.
(I'm an asshole for dividing people up so starkly but I think that's what it boils down to.)
I really want to turn right.
